Casting Crowns announced on their Instagram page that singer Mark Hall's father passed away.
Mark's touchingly reflects on his dad's last days:
This morning my hero, my dad, John Barry Hall passed away. He was at home with his family. And now he’s home with Jesus.
I was so blessed to be his caregiver along with my mom and sister this past year, and we were able to have so many sweet moments with him.
We will have his graveside service this Saturday. I’m so sorry that we have to postpone this week’s concerts. I know you all understand, but I also understand all the hard work and planning that go into these events as well as planning and excitement of families that were planning to be with us.
My team is working on rescheduling the dates while I am with my family.
“But now you’re standing in the sun. You fought your fight, your race is won. The pain is all a million miles away.”
I’ve never been able to talk about it, but I wrote that song for him. I wrote it when he started declining because I knew I wouldn’t be able to write it in these moments.
Thank you all for loving me and the Crowns family for so many years!
Rescheduled shows will be announced soon. Please keep the Hall family in your prayers.
